Gold Case: Gore taken to Singh Durbar from the Central Jail to take statement

KATHMANDU: The Gold Smuggling Investigation Commission has taken a statement from Chudamani Upreti ‘Gore’ who is said to be involved in 33 kg gold smuggling.
He was taken from Central Jail Sundhara to the Commission’s office at Singha Durbar for a statement.
Commissioners questioned him about gold smuggling.
The inquiry into the gold “Gore” brought to the airport on Magh 9, 2074 (23 Jan, 2018) has ended, and they have been absolved of all charges after the gold was discovered to be authentic.
The commission of inquiry is also questioning the police investigator and other government officials involved in the case.
After the Revenue Investigation Department arrested 61 kg of gold at the airport, the government established an inquiry commission and began work.
