Gorkhapatra’s sub-editor Pandit passes away

KATHMANDU: Sheshkanta Pandit, a sub-editor at Gorkhapatra Daily, passed away early this morning at the age of 47.

Battling cancer, he succumbed to the illness while receiving treatment at Medicity Hospital in Lalitpur at 3:00 am. Pandit had been grappling with intestinal cancer.

Born in Bhanu Municipality-12, Tanahun, in Baisakh 2033 BS, he is survived by his spouse and two children.

Pandit, who also served as the general secretary of the Society of Education Journalists, was actively involved in journalism education, social studies teaching, and authored several books.

His final rites were conducted at Pashupati Aryaghat this morning, as per family sources.
