Head of Education faces inquiry for unapproved class additions, Balen seeks explanation
Koirala had submitted an application for permission to run Class 11 in the science stream at Ratnarajya Laxmi Higher Secondary School in the Purano Baneshwor.
KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has demanded an explanation from Education Department Head Sitaram Koirala, who added classes to the school without the decision of the City Education Committee.
Koirala had submitted an application for permission to run Class 11 in the science stream at Ratnarajya Laxmi Higher Secondary School in the Purano Baneshwor.
The decision was made by the Municipal Education Committee on Chaitra 28, 2079 (11 April , 2023) and the approval letter for conducting classes in the science stream from Asar 20, 2079 (4 July , 2022) was sent to him.
But the education committee has not made a decision on that date, according to Shah’s secretariat.
After Koirala’s permission, students are enrolled in science faculty in Ratna Rajya Secondary School.
In addition to this, Chief Koirala has been instructed by Mayor Balen Shah’s secretariat to submit the clearance within 7 days and to remain on leave until then.
