KATHMANDU: The Election Commission has presented President Ram Chandra Paudel with a report on the election of National Assembly members.

The Commission’s staff arrived at Rashtrapati Bhawan on Sunday and delivered the report.

After reviewing the report, President Paudel complimented him for successfully finishing the election at the time.

President Paudel has directed the Election Commission to always be prepared for all levels of elections that must be held in conformity with the Constitution and Federal Law, since it is the Election Commission’s job to institutionalize democracy through elections.

Presenting the report, Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya presented details that 12 political parties were registered for the purpose of election of 19 National Assembly members who will be vacant from 20 Falgun, 2080, and 51 candidates of 8 political parties competed and 19 candidates of 5 political parties were elected.

In the election, out of a total of 2046 voters of the seven States, 199 voters participated in the voting process and the results of the 19 elected members of the National Assembly were also published on the same day.

The Assistant Spokesperson and Deputy Secretary Dr. Thaneshwar Bhusal informed that Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya of the Election Commission has submitted a report to President Paudel in accordance with Section 60 of the National Assembly Member Election Act, 2075 with the results of the National Assembly Member Election, 2080.
