Protest: ‘Hotel’s negligence, when will action be taken?'(photos)
Shakya was gravely hurt when the current surged through the hotel's swimming pool on the roof.
KATHMANDU: A demonstration was held in Jawalakhel for the justice of Sajilman Shakya, who was seriously injured due to electrocution in the swimming pool of Hotel Swire.
The protestors carried placards such as ‘The guilty must be punished, the innocent must get justice’, ‘The negligence of the hotel, when will action be taken?’, ‘Arrest the fugitive Romi Aryal’.
Shakya was gravely hurt when the current surged through the hotel’s swimming pool on the roof.
Continuous protests and public pressure are building for his justice. On the other side, the authorities have detained Square Hotel’s owner.
On Saturday, the District Police Complex in Lalitpur arrested hotel owner Lalita Bhandari.
After Sajilman was hurt, his family filed a lawsuit against the hotel’s proprietors, Romi Aryal and Lalita Bhandari. Lalita is Romi’s mother-in-law.
Romi hasn’t been arrested.
