Kathmandu Metropolitan City has begun an endeavor to improve traffic by prohibiting the practice of parking on the black-pitched road beginning today.

“No parking” signs are placed in areas where parking is restricted.
Similarly, individuals who arrive to park by deputing the municipal police are being notified that they will not be permitted to park on the black-pitched road beginning today.
This morning, motorbikes parked on the road in front of Bir Hospital were taken up by municipal police vehicles.
Senior City Police Superintendent Rajunath Pandey informed that free parking facilities have been offered at Kathmandu Tower (former old bus park) for vehicle owners who need to travel to the new road.
This area can accommodate 300 four-wheeled cars and 700 two-wheelers.
Starting early this morning, special cleaning was carried out in the forbidden parking area.
The Metropolitan Police Force and Environment Management Department mobilized tools, equipment, and people to complete the cleaning.
Earlier, there used to be vehicle parking on the road section from Dharmapath, Juddha Shalik towards Indrachowk, Khichapokhari, Pyukha, Maha Bouddha, and the black road around Bir Hospital.
While improving the traditional practice of parking on the road, parking has been prohibited in many places such as Bagbazar, Putlaisadak, Durbar Marg, Jhonche.
