Clash between Janamat activists & police in Saptari

KATHMANDU: Clash erupts between the Janamat Party and the police in Saptari.

There was a clash with the police after Janamat Party activists tried to disrupt the foundation-laying ceremony of Madhesh Agricultural University.

According to Janamat Party Secretary BP Sah, Madhesh Minister of Education and Culture Mahesh Prasad Yadav, along with State MPs Satish Singh, Ranju Khang, and Bhagyashree Choudhary, were hurt in the incident.

They were baton-charged by the police.

Upendra Yadav, JSP Chair of Madhesh Agricultural University, placed the foundation stone at Rajbiraj, despite resistance from the Janamat Party.

The foundation stone for the university’s own structure has been set on around 12 bighas of land in Rajbiraj Municipality 13.
