Creator of deepfake video of actor Rashmika Mandanna arrested

KATHMANDU: The person behind the ‘deepfake’ video of Indian actress Rashmika Mandana has been detained.

Imani Naveen, the engineer who created the deepfake video, has been detained by authorities.

According to the Hindustan Times, a squad of New Delhi Police detained Naveen in Andhra Pradesh.

Imani admitted to creating a deepfake video to enhance his social media followers.

Rashmika expressed gratitude to the Delhi Police administration after they were arrested. Rashmika’s visage is seen in the video superimposed on that of another lady.

She was seen traveling in an elevator wearing a black outfit.
