Tipper plunged 150 meters off the road in Tehrathum; 2 dies, 3 critically injured

KATHMANDU: Two persons were died in a tipper accident at Laligurans Municipality-9, Kande, Tehrathum. Three additional people were critically hurt in the crash.

According to the police, Sugam Chaudhary, 23, of Mechi Municipality-15 in Jhapa, and Sadhu Shrestha, 24, of Sindhupalchowk, were killed in the accident. Dinesh Tamang, 40, of Madi Municipality-4 Sankhuwasabha, Samir Chaudhary, 21, of Jhapa, and Bishnu Thami, whose age has yet to be determined, were injured.

According to the District Traffic Police Office Basantapur, the tipper Ko 1 Kha 5829, which was heading towards Lasune Bazaar from the Myanglung-Basantapur road segment, plunged 150 meters off the road at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Following the accident, the injured were sent to Basantapur Hospital for treatment.

Thami is in serious condition and has been sent to Dharan’s BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences for further treatment, according to police.

Two more injured patients are receiving treatment at Basantapur Hospital.
