Lama who escapes with 7 lakhs, claiming to ‘double’ money in 10 minutes held
60,000 cash and a mobile phone were recovered from him.

KATHMANDU: Police have arrested a young man who absconded with 7 lakh saying that he would double the money within 10 minutes.
The arrested person is 26-year-old Kumar Lama who lives in Sindhupalchowk Chautara Sangachokgadhi Municipality-5 and Kathmandu Metropolitan Municipality-15 Swayambhu.
On Poussh 16, He showed Surendra Oli, a resident of Dang Tulsipur-5, a video of bogus money and promised to quadruple it in 10 minutes, taking seven lakhs with him.
He then fled and was apprehended in Swayambhu by a police unit stationed at Kathmandu’s District Police Complex.
60,000 cash and a mobile phone were recovered from him.
The District Police Complex in Kathmandu is conducting a thorough inquiry into the incident.
