KATHMANDU: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has suspended Sandeep Lamichhane.

Sandeep, who was sentenced to 8 years in jail by the Kathmandu District Court, was convicted of rape and suspended by CAN.

According to CAN, he has been suspended from both domestic and international cricket activities.

Previously, District Judge Shishir Dhakal’s bench branded Lamichhane a rapist on Poush 13.

Sandeep had previously informed CAN that he was no longer a member of the national team.

He has sent a letter to CAN Chair Chatur Bahadur Chand and secretary Parash Khadka and informed that he will leave the national team. After making an informal decision, CAN suspended him.
