KATHMANDU: South Korea’s main opposition Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung has been discharged from the hospital.

He was hospitalized last week after being stabbed in the neck.

In a press conference in front of a hospital in Seoul, Lee stated that the war-like politics of killing and eliminating the opposition should end, and expressed his belief that his incident would be an opportunity to end the politics of hatred and restore politics.

Lee was stabbed in the left neck by a 60-year-old man during a visit to the southeastern port city of Busan on January 2. After emergency treatment in Busan, he was transferred by helicopter to a hospital in Seoul for surgery.
