38 suspects arrested in Turkey

Ankara has accused US-based Fethullah Gulen of masterminding the coup attempt, which killed at least 250 people.

KATHMANDU: Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya stated that Turkish police detained 38 people for planning a coup in 2016.

The accused were affiliated with the Gulen movement. The Gulen movement is headed and named after the Muslim cleric Fethullah Gulen. Whom his followers see as a spiritual leader.

Ankara has accused US-based Fethullah Gulen of masterminding the coup attempt, which killed at least 250 people.

Following the coup attempt, the Turkish government initiated a crackdown on suspected members of the network.
