Parul University: Leading private institution in Gujarat, India, extends academic opportunities to Nepali students

KATHMANDU: The meet was chaired by Ms Geetika Patel, Vice President, Parul University, India with Mr Neeraj Sah, Assistant Manager, Parul Univeristy and Mr Sunil Jaiswal, Managing Director, Achievers Consulting Services, Biratnagar – Nepal.

Parul University is located at western part of India, Dist. Vadodara, Gujarat’s leading private university having the foundation of its first Institution laid in 1993 as Parul Group of Institutes, and later established and incorporated as Parul University in 2015 under the Gujarat Private Universities (Second Amendment) Act of 2009.

It gives me immense pleasure to have got this opportunity to present a brief introduction about Parul University, P.O.Limda, Ta: Waghodia, Dist: Vadodara, Gujarat State-391760.

Parul University came into existence on April 21, 2015 by virtue of an Act of State Legislature & Gujarat Private Universities Act, 2009 & Gujarat Private Universities (Second Amendment) Act, 2015.

The university comprises 38 academic institutes and 21 Faculties which offer diploma, under graduate, post graduate and doctoral programmes in various disciplines such as engineering and technology, pharmacy, management, commerce, computer applications, medicine, homeopathy, ayurved, nursing, physiotherapy etc.

There are about 40,000 students studying in the university of whom about 4,000 are foreign nationals from around 65 different nationalities across the globe and about 20,000 students from different states of India. Parul University holds the distinction of being among a very few multi-disciplinary universities across India which has enrolled highest number of foreign nationals under its portal.

Parul University has achieved the highest distinction of receiving A++ grading in the first accreditation cycle by National Assessment and Accreditation Council, New Delhi. Within seven years of its establishment, the university has achieved a mile stone upon being the first private university across India graded A++ in Health Science Category by National Assessment and Accreditation Council, New Delhi in its first accreditation cycle.

Further, Parul University is the only university in Gujarat which is the recipient of highest GPA of 3.55 by NAAC in first accreditation cycle. Earlier, Parul Institute of Pharmacy has been ranked at 86 th place in National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF).

Parul University, upon launch of “Study in India”; Campaign by our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modiji, has participated extensively and has carried out campaigning activities in different countries such as Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Nepal, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Malawi, Lesotho, Russia among others. Furthermore, encouraged by The success of “Study in India” campaign, the Government of Gujarat also launched “Study in Gujarat” campaign to attract foreign nationals to study in Higher Educational Institutions in Gujarat.

Parul University has been leading partner of the said campaign and has promoted the quality education provided by HEIs in Gujarat.

State-of-the-art infrastructural facilities available in the university include separate boys and girls hostels with modern amenities such as air-conditioned rooms, vegetarian/ non- vegetarian cuisines, indoor and outdoor sports facilities (football, basketball, volleyball and cricket grounds and tennis court etc) and a total of five hospitals ( one allopathic and four AYUSH hospitals) established in the university campus are accredited by National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH), New Delhi.

Special cells established by the university such as International Relations Cell, International Students’ Affairs Cell, Career Development Cell, Training and Placement Cell, Entrepreneurship Development Cell etc endeavour to facilitate all round of development of the international students and provide necessary guidance and assistance to them during and after completion of their studies for excellence in their professional careers.

All the degrees offered by Parul University are recognised by local authorities like Tribhuvan University and CTEVT, Nepal.

Students are also clearing their license exam in Nepal from various councils. Our Alumnus are working in various government and private organization in Nepal and abroad as well.
