RSS news impact: Medicine supplied to Tila health posts
Chief of health section at Tila Rural Municipality, Harka Bahadur Rawat, informed that the local level purchased medicines worth Rs 800 thousand and sent to the needy health posts.
JUMLA: After the Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) disseminated a news story on shortage of medicines in the health posts of Tila Rural Municipality on Jan 1, the local level took initiative to ensure medicine supply in the concerned health facilities.
Chief of health section at Tila Rural Municipality, Harka Bahadur Rawat, informed that the local level purchased medicines worth Rs 800 thousand and sent to the needy health posts.
The health posts facing dearth of medicines were distributed the medical consignment on Monday.
Rawat further informed, “Process to purchase additional amount had begun to ensure all-time availability of medicines at all 13 health posts.” The local level has allocated Rs 800 thousand for health section for the current fiscal year.
The health section, however, witnessed budget crunch, so it had demanded medicine from public health office, Jumla to manage for now.
Meanwhile, Tila rural municipality chairman Motilal Rokaya said he had directed the health section to manage smooth supply of free medicines to the health posts.
After the RSS reported on medicine shortage, the villagers showed concern, thereby pressing their representatives to respond to it.
