KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress’s first Madhesh State convention has begun.

Representatives from all eight districts have attended the convention, which will continue till tomorrow.

Brihaspati Krishna Shrestha, the party’s General Minister for Madhesh State, informed.

The convention was inaugurated by Party President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba at the local Tirhutiagachi venue. The conference is being attended by Deputy Chairman Purna Bahadur Khadka, Dhanraj Gurung, General Minister Gagan Thapa, Bishwa Prakash Sharma, and Joint Ministers.

State President Krishna Prasad Yadav informed that the political, organizational and financial report of the State Committee will be discussed during the conference in which 825 representatives from eight districts of Madhesh will participate.

Chairman Yadav, who is also the Minister of Physical Infrastructure Development of the Madhesh State Government, said that he believes that the conference will be successful in conveying an important message through serious discussions on various issues to strengthen the federal democratic republic.
