Nepal Distilleries launches premium liquor brand ‘Aristocrat’
This liquor is inspired by the age-old Scottish method of manufacturing alcohol and is made from a combination of high-quality Nepali grain spirit and Scottish malt.

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Distilleries, Nepal’s first liquor production firm, has introduced the premium liquor brand ‘Aristocrat’ in the 40 UP sector.
This liquor is inspired by the age-old Scottish method of manufacturing alcohol and is made from a combination of high-quality Nepali grain spirit and Scottish malt.
This blend has a light golden hue with fragrances of sweet, mild vanilla and light oak, with a taste that is akin to a premium whiskey. Any superb wine is not only enjoyable to drink, but the scent and long-lasting sensation it provides thereafter is the major attribute found in every glass of this wine.
The form of this one-of-a-kind bottle, created especially for The Nepal Distilleries, maker of the most popular brand ‘Khukuri Rum,’ is inspired by the columns of medieval European palaces. Its symmetrical body, well-formed shoulders, and sturdy neck round out the impression of a quality wine.
Its label is likewise quite appealing. Where the lion, a symbol of power and courage guarding our history, has an appealing appearance.
Similarly, the glossy black hue on the label suggests a contemporary wine, yet the bright red color represents depth, strength, and our strong emotional response to this color.
Subhash Lamichhane, General Manager of The Nepal Distilleries, stated that this product has been prepared with the authentic flavor of Nepali in mind, as well as the desire of its consumers and their attraction to premium liquor.
According to him, a series of intensive experiments and feedback were undertaken over a period of more than two years prior to and after the establishment of the company’s first 40 UP premium liquor brand ‘Aristocrat’ in its portfolio. Consumers who participated in each experiment gave enthusiastic replies.
The ABV (alcohol percentage) of 40 UP wines is 34.23 percent.
Nepal Distilleries has been producing mainly 25 and 30 UP liquors. The company’s portfolio previously includes its best products Khukuri Rum and Nude Superior Vodka.
