KATHMANDU: The 49th Convocation Ceremony of Tribhuvan University was held today at local Dashrath Stadium.

In the 49th convocation ceremony of Tribhuvan University, a total of 12,415 students, who earned degrees from various faculties and levels, were graduated today.

The ceremony took place at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwar and was graced by the presence of President Ram Chandra Paudel and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who serves as the Chancellor, initiating the students from the platform named ‘Prachanda.’

From the 61st grace list of the University, which included 74,749 students, 12,415 chose to participate in the convocation ceremony this time.

Among the participating students, 8,098 were initiated for the bachelor’s level, 4,104 for the master’s level, 44 for the MPhil, and 112 for the bachelor’s degree.

Prof. Dr. Shivlal Bhusal, the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University, informed that students who have passed from Ashar 1, 2079, to the end of Jestha 2080, were eligible to participate in the convocation ceremony.

Comparatively, this year’s participation saw an increase from the 10,300 students who attended the convocation ceremony last year.

The university expressed its commitment to incorporating entrepreneurship along with education to address the challenges of providing employment opportunities to graduates within the country.
