KATHMANDU: Ex-Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand has provided Rs 1.5 million to the Department of Money Laundering Investigation (DMLI) in the ongoing bogus Bhutanese refugee case.

This submission, made on Friday at the department’s Pulchowk office, has a bank guarantee of Rs 1.5 million.

Khand’s prior issuance of a Rs 3 million bank guarantee to the District Court Kathmandu prompted this move.

Khand will appear before the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) in the future judicial processes.

According to sources, as the case advances, preparations are being made for a possible bail release in the following days.
