KATHMANDU: The hearing on the appeal of former Nepali Congress politician and former home minister Bal Krishna Khand, who was imprisoned in the bogus Bhutanese refugee case, has concluded.

The hearing today in the Patan High Court bench of Judge Krishna Ram Koirala has just concluded.

An order will come shortly regarding the release or detention of Khand.

According to the district court’s decision, there was a disagreement among the judges during the hearing on the Mangsir 15 (Dec 1) about the release of the imprisoned Khand.

The hearing was convened in the bench of the third judge following a disagreement between Judge Janak Pandey and Prakash Kharel on the order dated Mangsir 15 (Dec 1).

According to the High Court Rules and the Act, the third judge’s bench will decide on the case of Khand after deciding whose opinion is correct between Janak Pandey and Prakash Kharel.

Pandey had ordered to release him on a bond of 30 lakhs.

However, after Kharel gave an opinion that the district’s order should be upheld saying that his involvement was like no other, Khadn’s case went to the hands of the third judge.
