Fonepay appoints Sashin Joshi as a new Chair of the Board

KATHMANDU: Fonepay has announced the appointment of Sashin Joshi as the new Chair of the Board.
The appointment was made official on Dec 13, 2023 with a solemn oath-taking ceremony held at the Nepal Rastra Bank, in presence of Deputy Governor, Mr. Bam Bahadur Mishra.
Prior to his role as an independent director at Fonepay, Mr. Joshi served as a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in leading Banking and Financial institutions in Nepal for more than two decades.
His tenure in executive leadership positions has been marked by exemplary contributions, particularly in the areas of risk management, strategic planning, and international business. Mr. Joshi is widely recognized and esteemed in banking circles, bringing a substantial wealth of experience to his current role at Fonepay.
In a notable ceremony witnessed by key stakeholders and industry leaders, the newly appointed Chairman expressed his commitment to leading Fonepay into the next phase of its growth, “I am truly honored to step into the role of Chairman at Fonepay Payment Service Limited, and I am genuinely excited about the prospect of applying the wealth of experiences I have garnered throughout my career. As Chair my primary focus will be to give the strategic direction to the management team at Fonepay in cultivating a more efficient, capable, and socially responsible organization within Nepal’s digital payment ecosystem”- remarked Joshi.
