KMC constructing bus stops at 264 locations

KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has prepared to construct bus stops at 264 places.

Preparations are underway for improvements in the urban transportation system, including route optimization for buses, expansion of pelican crossing lights, unilateral road management, establishment of standards for motorcycle garages, management of road intersections and dividers, organization of petrol pump facilities, and regulation of road signs and markings.

In addition, the city is preparing to carry awareness campaigns on the transportation of everyday consumer products, freight vehicles, school bus scheduling, parking management, and school transportation systems.

This information was provided on the occasion of the 29th Metropolitan Day 2080 at a coordination and cooperation interaction between the Metropolitan Municipality and the Traffic Police held in the Metropolitan Municipality on Wednesday.

Basant Adhikari, Chief Administrative Officer of the Metropolitan City, announced in the program that the inaugural meeting of the Federal Capital Urban Area Public Transport Council had concluded and that collaboration with associated departments had been progressed.
