Biratnagar Metropolitan City to provide financial aid to godown fire victims

KATHMANDU: The Biratnagar Metropolitan City has declared that it will offer financial assistance to the relatives of the dead and injured who died in the fire at the Kawadi godown in Biratnagar-7 Satghumti.
The mayor of the metropolitan, Nagesh Koirala, said that one lakh rupees will be given to the families of those who died, with the money coming from the metropolis’ disaster management budget.
Similarly, the metropolitan has decided to provide Rs 50,000 for each wounded person’s treatment.
Deepak Mandal, 40, Sushila Paswan, 55, and Sunita Kamat, 64, all of Biratnagar-6, were killed on Wednesday afternoon after a fire broke out at Dukha Mandal’s Kawadi godown in Satghumti, Biratnagar-7.
Meanwhile, the metropolitan has also committed to manage sensitive businesses including Kawadi business and godown.
