PM flying Dhangadhi to inaugurate the fair

KATHMANDU: The 17th Sudurpaschim Mahotsav, organized by the Kailali Industry and Commerce Association, will begin today in Dhangadhi.

The fair, which will remain till Poush 2 (Dec 18), will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

The head of the association, Pushpa Kunwar, announced at a news conference in Dhangadhi on Thursday that Prime Minister Prachanda will formally inaugurate the fair at 12:30 p.m.

The Prime Minister will fly to Dhangadhi and return to Kathmandu this evening on a Buddha Air flight.

Kunwar said that it is estimated that there will be a turnover of 100 million at the festival. According to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the fair, which will be conducted with an investment of nearly 20 million, will be watched by 500,000 people.

There will be 400 stalls in agriculture, herbs, handicrafts, furniture, automobiles, garments, electronics, hotels and information technology.

According to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, arrangements have been made to pay 50 rupees for students, 100 rupees for general public and free entry for people with different abilities.
