Gold recovered from New Road weighs more than 7 KG

KATHMANDU: The gold recovered from Kathmandu’s New Road weighs seven kilos and one hundred and eighty-five grams.

The Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office team detained him on Tuesday night, and during the check today, gold was discovered in the result.

Padma Prasad Pandey, 41, of Nagarjuna, Kailali, was detained along with 4,100 US dollars and Rs 3,950,000, as well as the resultant gold.

Spokesperson of the office, Superintendent of Police Rabindra Regmi informed that Pandey was arrested based on information that he was selling and distributing gold jewelery without a bill in various places including New Road.

“It has been revealed that the arrested person is doing financial transactions through hundi,” said spokesman Regmi.

Spokesman Regmi said that Pandey, who was arrested, was selling various gold ornaments and gold pieces from Om Pearl Gold Pvt Ltd and Kailash Jewelers Pvt.

The arrested Pandey has been sent to District Police Complex Teku for necessary investigation and action.
