KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has demanded a fair investigation saying that the purchase and sale of Ncell’s shares was irregular.

The RSP MPs raised severe concerns about the anomalies in the purchase and sale of Ncell shares at a hearing of the Finance Committee of the House of Representatives of the Federal Parliament on Wednesday at the Singha Durbar.

Speaking at the event, RSP MP Biraj Bhakta Shrestha said, ‘The Ncell case has shown the level of corruption in the country. How will the investment environment of Nepal be formed tomorrow with the kind of expression that Axiata Company has given about Nepal?’

A person from a company said that there is no investment environment in the country and asked who will take responsibility for it.

The chief executive of Axiata, the Nepalese partner of Ncell, the ministers of finance and communication, the chief executive of the investment board, the chair of the Nepal Telecommunication Authority, and others have been summoned for questioning in the attention letter submitted by RSP.
