Three people who have paid bail being sent to the DMLI

KATHMANDU: According to the order of Patan High Court in the case of fake Bhutanese refugees, those released on bail will be sent to the Department of Money Laundering Investigation (DMLI).

The Patan High Court bench of Justices Prakash Kharel and Janak Pandey ordered the release of former home minister Bal Krishna Khand’s private secretary Narendra KC, Hajj committee Chair Shamsher Mia, refugee leader Teknath Rijal, Top Bahadur Rayamajhi’s son Sandeep, Hari Bhakta Maharjan, Aashish Budhathoki, and Ram Sharan KC on Friday.

After that order, KC, Maharjan and Mian paid the bail on Sunday. KC has given a bail of 10 lakhs, Maharjan 15 lakhs and Mia 10 lakhs. Budhathoki was ordered to be released on ordinary dates.

Sandeep has begun the bail procedure. Bhutanese politician Rijal has stated that he does not have the funds to pay the 15 lakh bail and would remain in jail.

On Monday, the Sundhara Jail administration will transfer individuals who have paid their bail to the Department of Money Laundering Investigation (DMLI).

The Department of Money Laundering Investigation (DMLI), according to Lalit Basnet, chief of jail administration, is ready to be filed today.

“In the case of those who have paid the bail, we are now preparing to submit it to the Department of Money Laundering Investigation (DMLI),” said Basnet.

The Police had given the opinion that the Department of Money Laundering Investigation (DMLI) should also investigate those arrested in the Bhutanese refugee case.

They will be investigated again by the department and the authorities.

During the investigation, they will not be allowed to come out if it is found necessary to keep them in custody.
