Dr. Shrawan Kumar Thapa appointed as Acting Director of Bir Hospital

KATHMANDU: Dr. Shrawan Kumar Thapa has been appointed as the Acting Director of Bir Hospital.

Dr. Bhupendra Basnet, Vice-Chancellor of the National Academy of Medical Sciences, N.Y.A.M.S., said today that Dr. Thapa has been assigned the acting duty till a final decision is made.

He previously worked as an assistant director.

Dr. Santosh Paudel, the director of Bir, was fired by the Ministry of Health and Population on Mangsir 14 (Nov 30) for being an active member of the CPN (UML).

Correspondence was also addressed to Dr. Paudel from Mangsir 15 (Dec 1) to appear at the ministry.
