KATHMANDU: The conflict between Israel and Hamas has resumed after a seven-day cease-fire.

The war has resumed as both Israel and Hamas accuse each other of failing to prolong the ceasefire.

According to the BBC, 170 Palestinians have been killed since Israel began bombing Gaza.

Israel also stated that it had carried over 200 “terrorist targets” attacks.

According to a source close to the ceasefire discussions, an agreement between Israel and Hamas in Qatar to prolong the truce has not been achieved.

However, the US has stated that it is still attempting to end the situation between the two.

Israel’s military said it had attacked 200 targets from land, sea and air across the north and south of the strip by lunchtime, including in Khan Younis, a southern city from which it had ordered civilians to evacuate.

Homes and other buildings were destroyed by the bombing in Gaza while aid to its 2.3 million people was halted, prompting Robert Mardini, the head of the Red Cross, to warn that a “nightmarish situation” for civilians had returned.
