Court orders pre-trial detention for 8 individuals, including Top Bahadur

KATHMANDU: The Patan High Court has ordered that eight persons implicated in the bogus refugee case, including Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, be held in jail until trial.

The Patan High Court upheld the order of the District Court, Kathmandu to detain 8 people including Indrajit Rai, Keshav Dulal, Angtawa Sherpa along with Rayamajhi while hearing the appeal against the arrest warrant.

On Friday, a combined bench of Patan High Court Judges Prakash Kharel and Janak Pandey decided that some of those imprisoned in the case be granted bail.

Narendra KC was granted bail in the amount of 10 lakhs, Hari Bhakta Maharjan in 15 lakhs, Laxmi Maharjan 10 lakhs, Shamshermiya 10 lakhs, Aashish Budhathoki 30 lakhs, Teknath Rijal 15 lakhs, and Tanka Gurung 15 lakhs.
