Bus collision claims pedestrian life in Kailali, East-West highway blocked

KATHMANDU: The east-west highway in Kailali has been blocked at Lamki after a pedestrian was killed in a bus accident.

The police stated that they were blocking the roadway due to the question of compensation for the deceased’s relatives.
Yuvraj Kattal, the Chief District Officer of Kailali, has urged that the deceased’s family be paid in accordance with the law, and action against the perpetrators has already begun.
A 37-year-old Dambar Bahadur Bista of Mohonyal Rural Municipality 7 was killed when he was hit by a bus numbered Na 5 Kha 8700 traveling from west to east on Thursday evening, according to the locality police office Lamki.
A pedestrian who was walking in at Ganeshpur Chowk in Ward No. 2 of Lumbini Municipality was seriously injured when he was hit by a bus.
Bista was taken to Lal Ratna Hospital for treatment.
As treatment was not possible there, he was referred to Nepalgunj Medical College, Kohalpur for further treatment.
The police said that the injured Bista died at 10 o’clock last night in Kohalpur during treatment.
The bus that hit and the driver are under the control of the local police office Lamki.
