KATHMANDU: Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), Kulman Ghising, said that the tendency and people not to work in Nepal has increased.
Addressing the inauguration program of smart street lights installed in the second phase of the metropolitan area by Lalitpur Metropolitan Municipality on Thursday, he said that while everyone is talking negatively, there are less people who are doing positive things and working.
He said that the Upper Arun 1,061 megawatt project, which is of national importance, had been stranded for a year due to a single tree not being chopped. He stated that the country cannot be established by not permitting work without authorization for one year.
Director Ghising stated that when the road department refused authorization to lay underground cables in the Kathmandu Valley, all the work was halted.
He claimed that the road administration had still not approved the large plan to dig underground after seven months. In many parts of Nepal, he claims, there is a lack of cooperation.
He said that it is difficult for the country to develop with the mindset of not giving within my jurisdiction. He said that it is unfortunate that due to the lack of coordination, big plans have turned into a waste.
