Banke’s Keshav Kunwar dies in bus hit

KATHMANDU: A pedestrian has died after being hit by a bus on the east-west highway of Banke last night.

According to the District Police Office of Kohalpur, 40-year-old Keshav Kunwar of Raptisonari Rural Municipality-8 Overi died during treatment after being struck by a bus traveling from Mahendranagar to Kathmandu.

Dharmaraj Timilsina, the bus driver, has been held pending an inquiry.

Meanwhile, a pedestrian was killed after being hit by a bus in Kailali’s Lamki district.

Dambar Bahadur Bista, 37, of Mohanyal Rural Municipality-7, was hit by a bus traveling from west to east, according to the local police office in Lamki.

Lamki’s local police station has taken the bus and driver into prison and begun an inquiry.
