KATHMANDU: KP Sharma Oli, Chair of the CPN-UML, paid a visit to the birthplace of Martyr Dashrath Chand.

Chair Oli and other leaders who reached in Baitadi this morning to commence the Sankalpa Yatra for Jhulaghat-Chiwabhanjyang prosperity paid a visit to Martyr Dasharatchand’s birthplace at Dasharatchand Municipality-5 Baskot in Baitadi.

According to Binod Bahadur Chand, head of the Dashrath Chand Memorial Foundation, Oli and other politicians paid visit to Chand’s salik outside the residence.

The leaders, he claims, have also signed the visitor’s book maintained at the residence.

Chair Chand said that although there has been an initiative to declare the foundation as a national institution for a long time, it has been neglected by the government agencies, so a memorandum has been submitted to Chair Oli to take the initiative to declare the foundation as a national foundation. The national flag was hoisted at Jhulaghat.

Earlier, Chair Oli visited the famous Tripurasundari temple here today.

After the Sankala Yatra launch, Oli will address the public meeting organized in Gothlapani today.

UML said that there is a meeting with Bajhang leaders and workers in Khodpe this evening.
