KATHMANDU: Thirty-one passengers booked tickets on the national flag carrier of Nepal, the Nepal Airlines Corporation (Nepal Airlines) on their way to Dubai Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ couldn’t depart on Wednesday night.

The team, led by Prime Minister Prachanda, was due to fly to Dubai on Nepal Airlines flight number ‘RA 229’ on Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. to attend COP 28, a climate change summit. Other passengers who had booked tickets on the same aircraft were unable to get to Dubai.

Those travelers have been housed in the Kaveri Inn Hotel in Dnyaneshwar.

According to Nepal Airlines, the cause for the departure of passengers is a “VVIP flight.” The Nepal Airlines aircraft carrying the Prime Minister to Dubai was rescheduled two hours ahead of schedule. It was scheduled to depart at 11:30 a.m. At 9:30 a.m., the Prime Minister boarded the plane.

Passengers who had reached the airport were forced to return when Nepal Airlines did not inform them that the flight schedule had been shifted ahead.

The majority of Nepalis who were unable to go to Dubai on the Prime Minister’s plane are Nepalese seeking international work.

However, the firm claims to have provided the passengers with advance notice.

According to the firm, the individuals will be flown today.
