KATHMANDU: Cristiano Ronaldo, a well-known for his goal-scoring heroics, but he declined to accept Al-Nassr’s penalty against Persepolis on Monday night.

The penalty was granted by Chinese referee Ma Ning, but Ronaldo appealed, claiming there was no foul from the opponent.
Ning was escorted to the pitchside monitor, where his call was eventually changed.
Persepolis was saved by a combination of video assistant referees and Ronaldo’s honesty.
Ali Lajami of Al-Nassr was shown a red card in the 17th minute. The game concluded in a scoreless tie.
Before the match in Riyadh, Al-Nassr had already qualified for the knockout stage.
The Saudi Pro League side leads Group E with 13 points after five games, five more than Persepolis in second place.
