Int’l mountain biking competition ‘Himalayan Enigma – The Trail of the Gods’ to be organized
During a press conference today, the Nepal Tourism Board announced that the race program will include a practice day, seeding run, and race day in Dolakha, Nepal, some 135 kilometers from Kathmandu.
KATHMANDU: The international mountain bike race ‘Himalayan Enigma – The Trail of the Gods’ will be held in Dolakha from Nov 27 to 29, in collaboration with the Nepal Tourism Board and the Bhimeshwar Municipality.
During a press conference today, the Nepal Tourism Board announced that the race program will include a practice day, seeding run, and race day in Dolakha, Nepal, some 135 kilometers from Kathmandu.
Iswarnarayan Manandhar, Mayor of Bhimeshwar Municipality, stated on the event that Dolakha Mountain is being readied to become another bike destination.
Dr. Dhananjay Regmi, Executive Director of the Nepal Tourism Board, stated that the program will promote not just Dolakha but also Nepal as a top mountain riding destination. He believes that this tournament would increase awareness of Dalkha as an adventurous tourism destination.
Similarly, Hikmat Singh Aire, senior director of the board, stated that Dolakha provides a comprehensive bundle of cultural, ecological, and spiritual experiences, and that the program would promote Dolakha as an adventure tourist destination.
Santu Shrestha, a representative of the event organizing team and a member of the local community, said that they are looking for change by introducing the destination Dolakha as an ‘adventure destination’ and informed that well-known French mountain biking legend Kilian Bron will also participate in the competition.
In the competition, the first category is the elite group, the second is the open category, the third is the intermediate category and the fourth is the fun category.
