KATHMANDU: Sudurpaschim State beat Nepal Police Club, a member of the national squad competing in the KP Oli Cup T-20 cricket competition in Pokhara.

Kiran Thagunna of Sudurpaschim scored the most runs with 51. Kiran Thagunna and Naren Shaud of Sudurpaschim, who previously lost 5 wickets for 46 runs, established an outstanding combination.
Thagunna and Saud shared an excellent partnership of 93 runs. Captain Raju Rijal contributed 19 runs and Basanta Karki contributed 15 runs. On the bowling side, Police’s Rashid Khan took 3 wickets, Sunil Dhamala and Sagar Dhakal took 1 wicket each.
Earlier, Police, who batted first, scored 158 runs losing 4 wickets in 20 overs with the help of opener Kushal Bhurtel’s excellent half-century. Bhurtel was dismissed after scoring 67 runs off 51 balls.
Sunil Dhamala scored 42, Arjun Saud scored 20 and captain Aarif Sheikh added 2 runs.
Dilip Nath scored 4 and Karan KC added 7 runs and remained unbeaten. In terms of bowling, Sudurpaschim’s Vikash Agri took the most 2 wickets. Basanta Khatri and Bhojraj Bhatta took 1 wicket each.
