Shopping mall fire in Karachi kills at least 11 people

KATHMANDU: A massive fire in a shopping mall in Pakistan’s southern port city of Karachi has killed at least 11 people and wounded more than 20.

According to Karachi East District Deputy Commissioner Altaf Sheikh, 11 persons have perished as a result of the Saturday fire.

Three persons are in serious condition as a result of severe burns.

Maqbool Baqar, the acting Chief Minister of Southern Sindh, has ordered an impartial probe into the event.
