Manakamana Cable Car marks anniversary with sanitation & blood donation campaign

KATHMANDU: Mankamana Darshan Pvt Ltd, Nepal’s first cable car service company, has completed a number of initiatives to commemorate its 25th anniversary.
On Thursday, as part of its corporate social responsibility, the business organized a cleaning operation at Mankamana Devi, a popular holy site in Mankamana, Gorkha.
On the same day, a blood donation program was completed at Cheresh, the lower station of the cable car. Devotees who came Manakama for worship, as well as corporate personnel, participated in the blood donation.
Mankamana Darshan Pvt Ltd, which has operated a cable car service from Kurintar in Chitwan to Mankamana Temple in Gorkha for the past 25 years, has made incalculable contributions to the establishment of not only the Mankamana Temple but also Ichchakamana in Chitwan and Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality in Gorkha as tourist destinations.
The company has been providing 1% of its annual revenue from cable car tickets to these two remote villages.
This sum has aided in the construction of infrastructure in both communities, including health and education, as well as drinking water and roads.
