Durga Prasai faces police complaint

KATHMANDU: A complaint has been filed with the Dhanusha police against anti-republican activist Durga Prasai for playing the old national anthem during a program in Janakpurdham.

Durga Prasai was the chief guest at a function hosted by Hindu Emperor Sena Dhanusha on Kartik 28 (Nov 14).

According to Prasai’s directions, the former national anthem “Shreeman Gambhir Nepali” was played during the progtam.

Youth Union Nepal Dhanusha Chair Roshan Kumar Yadav filed a lawsuit against Prasai, alleging that he violated the law by disrespecting the national anthem.

Prasai has been demanded to be jailed and fined to the extent that no person has been given permission to do things that are against the constitution and law.

It is said in the complaint, “Since he has committed an offense related to Section 153 of the National Criminal Code 2074, the defendant should be searched and imprisoned and fined to the extent required by Section (2) of (1) of the Act.”
