6 judges recommended to the Supreme Court
There are 21 posts in the Supreme Court, including the Chief Justice, and currently only 14 are working.
KATHMANDU: The names of 6 people have been recommended as judges of the Supreme Court.
Ram Prasad Shrestha, a Justice Council member, informed that the meeting on Tuesday proposed Mahesh Sharma Paudyal, Saranga Subedi, Tek Prasad Dhungana, Abdul Azid Muslim, Sunil Pokharel, and Balkrishna Dhakal for appointment to the empty judge seat.
High Court judges Paudyal, Subedi, Dhungana, and Muslim are represented by legal experts, while Pokharel and Dhakal, who are also senior advocates, are represented by legal professionals.
There are 21 posts in the Supreme Court, including the Chief Justice, and currently only 14 are working.
There are seven vacancies on the bench, and six candidates have been proposed.
Their appointment will be made only if the special committee approves the parliamentary hearings.
