Petition filed with SC seeking declaration of Maitighar as a restricted zone

KATHMANDU: A writ petition has been registered in the Supreme Court against the decision of the District Administration Office Kathmandu to issue a prohibition order to Maitighar Mandala.

Advocate Swagat Nepal filed a writ petition, claiming that the injunction was decided to repress citizens’ freedom to freely gather without arms.

In the writ petition, he asked that the local administration’s decision be overturned, as well as the prohibition order’s decision, and that residents be permitted to demonstrate peacefully.

The preliminary hearing of the application has been scheduled for Wednesday by the Supreme Court administration.
