KATHMANDU: The petition filed against the ban of TikTok in Nepal has been put on the ‘no time to see’ list by the Supreme Court on Monday.

The case challenging the ban on the TikTok app has been included in the ‘no time to see’ list by the bench presided over by Dr. Kumar Chudal.

On Friday, 10 writ petitions opposing the TikTok ban were submitted to the Supreme Court.

The initial hearing for the case was scheduled to take place today under the jurisdiction of Dr. Kumar Chudal’s bench.

Senior Advocate Dinesh Tripathi, along with Judges Trilok Bahadur Chand, Prem Silwal, Aananta Raj Luitel, Dr. Sunil Ranjan Singh, Yagya Mani Neupane, and Pharshu Ram Pandey, jointly filed the petitions against the ban on Friday.

The writ petitions sought an interim order to allow TikTok to operate in its original form by overturning the government’s decision.

The Council of Ministers had decided to ban the TikTok app in its meeting on Nov 13.

The petitioners in their writ have demanded to rescind the decision to ban TikTok, according to Govinda Ghimire, Deputy Spokesperson at the Supreme Court.

Almost of the internet service providers in the country stopped running TikTok since the decision.
