Preparation of party unity between Maoist and NSP

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Samajwadi Party (NSP) negotiating committee, led by the CPN Maoist Centre and Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, suggested the formation of a party unity committee.

Following the talks on Sunday, the negotiation committees of both parties issued a joint statement in which they announced their decision to propose the formation of a party unity coordination committee to the leadership of both parties in order to achieve party unity.

The party unity coordination committee has discussed the ideological and policy issues raised by both parties and will proceed based on consensus, as well as the party’s constitution, name, organizational structure, election symbol, and other details.

For unity talks between the two parties, the Maoist Centre formed a negotiation committee under the chairmanship of Krishna Bahadur Mahara and Nepal Samajwadi Party under the chairmanship of Ganganarayan Shrestha.
