150 million deposited in PMDRF for Jajarkot earthquake victims

KATHMANDU: The government has received more than 150 million rupees in financial assistance for rescue, relief, and rehabilitation in the aftermath of the earthquake, which struck Ramidanda in Jajarkot.

The Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund (PMDRF) has received 152.8 million rupees up to Mangsir.

The amount collected up to Thursday was announced by the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers.

The earthquake in Jajarkot and Rukum West resulted in massive property loss. Many people announced aid funds at the time for the rescue, relief, and rehabilitation of those affected by the earthquake.

The government had asked for donations to be made to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund.

Contributions include Min Bahadur Gurung (Rs 11.1 million), Buddha Air (Rs 10 million), Rastriya Banijya Bank (Rs 10 million), Global IME Bank (Rs 10 million), Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd (Rs 10 million), Gorkha Brewery (Rs 10 million), and CAN Central Payment (Rs 10 million).

Similarly, the Nepali Congress and CPN-Maoist Centre, in collaboration with the Agricultural Development Bank, have donated Rs 5 million each.
