KATHMANDU: Over 100 Japanese citizens demonstrated in central Tokyo.
They demonstrated at the Group of Seven (G7) foreign ministers’ meeting, criticizing the escalation of the Gaza conflict and demanding quick action to cease Israel’s murderous attacks on Gaza.
The Gaza issue is scheduled to be discussed outside of the meeting at Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Ikura House in Tokyo.
Top diplomats, including US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, attended the meeting, which was presided over by Japan’s Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa.
They protested by carrying banners with phrases like “Stop the Attack on Gaza,” “Cease Fire,” and “Peace for Gaza.” They claimed that if the G7 backed American policy toward Israel, they would be regarded participants in the conflict.
