Life in northern China affected by continuous cold wave

KATHMANDU: The life has been disrupted in North and Northeast China as a result of strong winds and heavy snowfall.

The northern provinces of China have begun to prepare for extreme weather conditions.

They have taken the essential precautions to assure safety.

In Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang province, more than 89,000 sanitation workers, as well as machinery and equipment, have been mobilized for snow and ice clearance.

Approximately 120,000 personnel were recruited in Liaoning province till Monday night, along with approximately 20,000 snow removal vehicles and equipment.

Meteorologists predicted that the cold spell in northern China would last for three days.
