Ather 450X electric scooter now available to the public in Nepal, price NPR 3,85,500

KATHMANDU: Ather, an Indian electric scooter brand, has entered the Nepali market. Vaidya Organization introduced the Ather 450 X model scooter on Sunday, with two battery options of 2.9 KWh and 3.7 KWh.

Ather has over 1400 fast charging stations across India, making it the largest network in the country.

The batteries used in Ather scooters have a warranty of five years or 60,000 kilometers; if the battery health falls below 70% during that time, a new battery will be provided.

Google Maps, a multi-stop trip planner, Bluetooth call and music control, and theft and tow alerts are all available on the Ather scooter.

Ather has also promised to provide emergency assistance in India 24 hours a day, seven days a week, even when the charge is depleted.

According to the company, a battery with a capacity of 3.7 kWh will provide a range of 150 km, while a battery with a capacity of 2.9 kWh will provide a range of 111 km.

This electric scooter has a top speed of 90 kilometers per hour. It is said that accelerating from zero to 40 kmph takes 3.3 seconds.

The Ather scooter also has an IP65 rating for water resistance and dust proofing, a seven-inch TFT touchscreen, 4G connectivity, and Bluetooth 4.2.

Not only that, but there is a separate mobile app for the Ather scooter. Tow and Theft Notification, Find My Scooter, Find Ather Grid Near You, Real Time Charge Status, Push Navigation, Ride Insight, Ather Trip Planner, and other features are included.

The scooter comes with park assist, auto hold, 22 liter boot space, side stand sensor, auto indicator cutoff, headlight on for 20 seconds even when switched off, document storage on dashboard, and a footrest for rear passengers.

The Ather 450 X scooter costs Rs.385,500 in Nepal for the 2.9kWh battery model and Rs.420,000 for the 3.7kWh battery model.

The Ather 450X can be charged using a personal or fixed charger and includes features such as an emergency stop signal, a fallsafe that turns off the motor’s power supply when it falls, dual disc brakes, and so on.

The 3.7 KWh model is said to take four and a half hours to charge the scooter from zero to 80 percent, while the 2.9 KW version takes six hours and 36 minutes.

The scooter has a three-year or 30,000-kilometer warranty, and the portable charger has a three-year warranty.
