3 killed in road crashes in Philippines

MANILA: Three motorcycle riders were killed in separate road accidents in Batangas province, south of Manila, over the weekend, a local newspaper reported on Monday.

Quoting police reports, the Philippine Daily Inquirer said a 40-year-old man was killed after his vehicle collided with another motorcycle on Sunday afternoon in Nasugbu town.

Another tragedy occurred when a 52-year-old male motorcycle rider collided with a sports utility vehicle coming from the opposite direction in Laurel town on Sunday.

The third victim was a 19-year-old tricycle back-rider due to a road crash in Lobo town.

A tricycle is a three-wheeled vehicle and a typical means of public and private transport in the Philippines.
